Raja Bot Market (Chow Kit)

Chow Kit is a sub-district in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is located around Jalan Chow Kit and is covered by parallell roads of Jalan Raja Laut and JalanTunku Abdul Rahman. It was named after a tin miner and city councillor, Loke Chow Kit.

Currently, this area has the charateristics of Indonesia due to Indonesian immigrants doing business in small stalls. Lately, there is also a small community of Negro / African people especially from Nigeria. It has a morning market known as Baazar Baru Chow Kit that is the largest morning market in Kuala Lumpur.

It is also characterised by a night market known as Bundle Chow Kit along Lorong Haji Taib which is also known by many as the place that sells used clothing and accessories. Chow Kit is also known as a red light area and a meeting place of the transsexuals. It is also known as a popular place for drug addicts. The Chow Kit Monorail Station is situated in this area and the PWTC LRT Station is nearby.

The Chow Kit Market is currently known as Raja Bot Market.
