Sultan Sulaiman Club is located in Kampung Baru, Kuala Lumpur near Jalan Raja Alang and Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman. 500 metres at the corner of the road is where the Kampung Baru Mosque is located, which is the centre for religious activities of the Malays in Kuala Lumpur.
Sultan Sulaiman Club was originally a hall built of wood and later a building of stone. The purpose is to ‘compete’ with the Lake Club that is also located in Kuala Lumpur at that time.
This building is historical because UMNO was established and various congresses related to the Malay people were held here. The Sultan of Selangor at the time has consented Sultan Sulaiman as the name of the club.
